Dr. William Holcomb, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmic surgeon. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts at the University of Mississippi, graduating magna cum laude. He then completed his medical school training at the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham, Alabama, gaining membership in the American Ophthalmology Association medical honor society and graduating cum laude. After a one year medical internship at Carraway Methodist Medical Center, he completed a three year residency at the Eye Foundation Hospital in Birmingham, where he served as Chief Resident. He was then certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
He established a cataract and refractive surgery practice in Cullman in 1994 and opened Holcomb Laser Center in 1999. During his career he has performed thousands of refractive procedures.
Dr. Holcomb is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ASCRS). He currently serves on the Board of the Alabama Academy of Ophthalmology (ALOA). He has lectured at the annual AAO meetings, and recently served two years as Chief of Staff at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He and his wife have three children.
